I Agree
I would have to agree with drgraffernberg32. I also think Bisco is better than sts9 and lotus, and I'm also a huge band of both bands. The reason why I think there better is that they are very creative with their songs, and they know what songs to put together when making a set for a concert. I also like how a song from Bisco can sound completely from one night to another because of their creativity with their jams. I'm hoping for another mid-west invasion from Bisco this year or the next because I'm dieing to see them again. The congress theatre set on 1-24-09 is very solid and is worth the download. The sound quality is very rich sounding, and when there it sounds sick. I was front row center jamming out and it was a fun night and good atmosphere.

just wanted to say...
all i have to say is that the disco biscuits are better than sts9 and lotus put together. i like all of these bands but the biscuits are on another level. nice set as well, and for anybody complaining cause they didnt play their bigger songs like digital buddha or basis, relax. its nice when you can find a show every now and then when they dont play those same heavy hitters

the show
this is one of the better of the 200 biscuit shows i have.the jams rip.the anticicipation to check the drummer was awesome.and for the record this is an Disco Biscuits review.sts9 is nice, lotus is okay, lets stick with the program. Biscuits are so damn tight, had FZ been alive hed fall right in as their guitarist or them hia bND.These guys are seriously accomplished musicians, capable of anything, their side projects are proof.Never diminish these guys. They got too much talent.this is 5 *.

good show for the dedicated fans...
This was an interesting show...there are very few similar shows by the band. The band made it clear they would be bringing the rarities to Denver and they did so indeed. Aquatic Ape, Mr. Don, Nughuffer, And The Ladies, Spectacle and Sweating Bullets all in the same show?!
I think some people have a problem with this show because they really didnt play many *songs*..especially their heavy hitters. They really came to Denver to show the crowd how they jam. This show is a very techno driven show. Although most Biscuits shows obviously have techno/trance jams, they seemed to really focus on that aspect of the band at the Fillmore.
The song selection was a little weird considering 3 of them were instrumentals. The Nughuffer>Abyss>Nughuffer and Ladies>Cyclone>Ladies are the reasons to download this show.

Fun show
This was a great show to be at. So much fun! To give this show 1 star is idiotic, especially after commenting that it's atleast 3. It's no means the best biscuits show in the world, but no reason to try and deter anybody from giving it a listen.
ladies > cyclone > ladies
bullets > shem rah boo
Nughuffer > great abyss > nughuffer are all a great listen.

not too shabby
This being my first biscuits show, I'm really not in too great of a position to judge, however the show was pretty good. I can definately tell the new drummer is gonna take the revitalized biscuits to new heights, they just havent really harnesed the flow as of yet. Lotus however is a band smoothly on the rise. I recently saw them at the fox in boulder, and for all those non-believers out there, Lotus is absolutely the next STS9. Their constant pumping energy kept me moving all night. The made the Fox seem like it was gonna lift off into sky toward the endo of the show. If you havent heard Lotus live yet. I strongly encourage you to do so. They're absolutely on the rise

It was a good show, but I'm partial.
Indeed it was an awesome show, but you must realize, I haven't seen The Biscuits since the last time they were in Colorado. I like the new drummer, I really enjoy his style. I can't wait for him to learn the rest of the material and start contributing more. Then we can see what happens.
Rumor was that this was going to be a "Bust Out" show, however, I'd say it was a mediocre show. It started strong but in my opinion, was very anticlimatic. Not that I'm in any position to criticize as I'm merely a fan, and I can't get 1,000 people to come see me play.
Mishawaka in 2006 would be phenominal.

Jesus, people...
This show is at best 3 stars. I'm glad you all are having fun, but please don't turn these reviews into "Heady, brah, this show r00lz face!" What a bunch of fluffers...
The >Ladies and >Nughuffer are both really good, as is the Shem-Rah (does anyone else hear a Sweating Bullets tease in the Shem-Rah Boo?). The Ape is actually much better than I would have expected except the end is completely butchered. This show sounds exactly like one would expect from a band just three months into its new career. There are moments of brilliance, but too much of this stuff sounds like Particle-esque drivel...simple four-on-the-floor much more derivative than the Biscuits of old. Thank goodness for the Spectacle intro, though -- it shows that Allan is beginning to be able to incorporate some softer drumwork to complement the thumping beats.
Soundwise, I think this source sounds great, especially given the annoying fluctuations throughout the first set (one at Lai, one in Cyclone, and one in Ladies, I think) that'll be present on all sources.
Also, for the person who asked...
"PLAN C APPROVED" certifies that a group of tapers/afficionados in the Biscuits scene have gone over this source looking for flaws (and often fixed them when possible). For an example with this source, it took longer to release because we wanted to confirm things like the volume fluctuations were at the show and not just because the taper played with the gain. Also, tracking for Plan C shows will be ~99% accurate (often there are still personal choices one way or another that will affect the exact point), not just cueing on some easy to recognize riff, but often a more complete picture of the song (a specific bassline, for example).

Fillmore's flames yet to be put out.
My first Biscuits show in over 2 years. You don't know how much I needed it. But I'm not sure I deserved something this hot. This was, without a doubt, better than anything I saw in '03. I don't really count '04/'05.
Alan rules. I'm a big Sammy fan, but this kid is only going to get better. Sammy had hit the wall by the end. Alan has breathed life into something that was on it's way to death, and this show here is proof. I took a pure Bisco-hater to the show, and he could not deny the fact that this one melted face. Pure heat at 1000mph. I like Lotus, but I really felt bad for them after this. Get a good plastic surgeon for the Nughuffer and the Ladies>CycLadies.

Triumphant Return to CO
This long awaited and much anticipated show was one to remember. First Allen experience and I dig him, much excitement for tDB version 2.0. Highlights include the Ladies sandwich where i raged to Cyclone for the 1st time which was nasty, and of course, the CO Huffer that truly demonstrated the jammming power of bisco. The Bullets jam was sick, absolute techno ravin fire. and the encore was a fun, suitable ending to a fantastic weekend. Can't wait for the next round this summer.... see u at wakaru
